Humanoid robots enter the education debate

At a White House summit, “Figure 03” greeted guests in 11 languages while Melania Trump pushed AI as a future tool for personalized teaching.
The moment felt staged, but the policy signal is real. When a robot is part of the pitch, it shows how far leaders are willing to go to make AI in classrooms feel inevitable.
This ties directly to a broader push, with tech CEOs like Zuckerberg and Huang now advising on AI policy while the U.S. frames this as competition with China.
The room was bright, cameras clicking, and the robot speaking like a demo unit you would see at a trade show.

Google now lets AI generate full songs.
Lyria 3 Pro can create tracks up to three minutes long, up from 30 seconds, with controls for verses, choruses, and other structure inside the Gemini app.
This moves the product from a toy into something closer to actual workflow. Once you can shape sections and length, it starts to resemble how music is really made, not just clips for demos.
The rollout across Vertex AI, APIs, and a newly acquired production tool shows Google wants this inside both consumer apps and professional pipelines at the same time.
You can imagine someone sitting with headphones on, tweaking prompts instead of touching an instrument.
The open question is whether this becomes a drafting tool for artists or a replacement for the first pass entirely.
The government picks SMS for AI training

You can start an AI course by texting one word.
The Labor Department launched a free program that teaches AI basics over SMS, with 10-minute daily lessons completed in seven days.
This is a distribution decision more than an education one. Texting lowers the barrier in a way most online courses never have, especially for workers without stable internet or a laptop.
It also quietly defines what “AI literacy” means at a national level, with five areas that focus as much on using and judging outputs as understanding the tech itself.

If this works, it sets a template for how the government delivers skills training at scale without building new platforms.
