Google halts Gemma amid defamation claims

An AI “hallucination” just crossed into political territory.

Google has suspended its Gemma model from AI Studio after Senator Marsha Blackburn accused it of fabricating a false sexual misconduct story about her one that cited fake sources and events that never happened. The incident follows another lawsuit alleging Gemma labeled a conservative activist as a “child rap*st.”

Google’s response of calling these errors “known issues” landed poorly. Blackburn’s letter reframed them not as glitches, but as corporate defamation. It’s a shift from technical failure to moral liability.

The move spotlights the political peril of generative AI: when models misfire, they don’t just spread misinformation, they manufacture reputational damage in seconds. Washington, already wary of AI bias, now has a concrete villain.

Some hallucinations fade. Others rewrite the rules for truth itself.

AI artist just hit the Billboard charts

For the first time, an AI has earned real radio play.

Billboard confirmed that Xania Monet, an entirely AI-generated artist is the first to debut on its radio chart after gaining enough human airplay to qualify. The voice, lyrics, and production were all synthetic, yet DJs and listeners spun it like any pop newcomer.

It’s a quiet but defining moment. AI music has flooded YouTube and TikTok, but radio, the last bastion of industry gatekeeping has now opened its doors. The boundary between artist and algorithm isn’t blurring anymore; it’s dissolving.

Labels will follow the signal. Playlists will fill with code. The business of fame just met its most obedient star.

Somewhere, a real musician is hearing their future and it’s autotuned to perfection

Vietnam turns to AI and blockchain for its green leap

Vietnam’s sustainability plan now runs on code.

At the Open Innovation Day 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, experts outlined how AI and blockchain are becoming the core tools of the nation’s green transformation from circular manufacturing to energy-smart cities.

But ambition meets infrastructure. Analysts warned that Vietnam still leans heavily on foreign cloud services and lacks the data centers and fiber backbone to sustain AI’s hunger for compute. To stay sovereign, they urged the use of lighter, purpose-built models and demand-driven AI systems.

Blockchain, meanwhile, offers Vietnam a transparent way to verify environmental data and trace sustainable supply chains. Yet weak inter-agency connectivity could limit its promise.

With new digital-asset laws and government investment, Vietnam is positioning itself as Southeast Asia’s digital-green hybrid, a test case for tech-powered sustainability.

The next phase of its growth won’t be mined or manufactured. It’ll be verified, hashed, and optimized.
