A cowork agent built for real engineering work
MiniMax says its new model helped build part of the system around it.
M2.7 is designed as a cowork agent that can run complex workflows across 50+ skills and up to 150 features without breaking. It handles tasks like log analysis, refactoring, code security, and multi-step engineering work across real environments.
In one setup, a single person used it to generate a full agent harness with CI, testing, and code review in four days, then extended it into a research agent system with data pipelines and evaluation loops.
The part that stands out is execution depth. It scored 9 gold medals across 22 MLE-bench tasks, which points to real capability in training, optimization, and applied ML work.
Benchmarks are strong, including 56.22% on SWE-Bench Pro along with solid performance across full project delivery and terminal tasks.
If this holds up in broader use, small teams will be able to run complex engineering workflows without expanding headcount. The model starts to take on more of the actual build process, not just assistance.
