Kalshi has real-money markets on which AI model leads benchmarks this week, which lab ships AGI first, when Anthropic releases Mythos, whether OpenAI raises ChatGPT pricing, and which company has the best coding model at year-end. These aren't abstract questions — they're live markets with real money on both sides, moving as labs ship, benchmarks drop, and announcements land.
The edge belongs to whoever actually follows this space. Not the casual observer — the person who reads model cards, tracks evals, and notices when a new release outperforms the field before the mainstream press catches up.

Wall Street screens turned red Friday after Moonshot AI released Kimi K3, with the Nasdaq falling about 1% in one session.
Moonshot says its open-source model still trails Claude Fable 5 and GPT 5.6 Sol. Independent tests still place Kimi near leading proprietary systems.
The fear is premature. My read is that the market reaction says more about investor sensitivity around Nvidia and US AI valuations than one model release does.
Kimi gives policymakers a practical test of whether they can separate documented security risks from pressure to protect American AI companies. Early comments about backdoors and regulatory uncertainty suggest that distinction may disappear quickly.
The policy fight is early. Will US regulators wait for evidence before making Chinese open models too risky for companies to use?
SpaceX may be a compute company too

Inside Colossus, rows of GPUs are reportedly earning more from outside customers than SpaceX made across its entire business last year.
SpaceX agreed to provide Anthropic and Google access to about 435,000 Nvidia GPUs, with contracts worth roughly $26 billion annually.
The company generated $18.7 billion in total revenue last year. The math is striking. I think these deals matter because they give SpaceX a near-term business that does not depend on Grok catching OpenAI or Anthropic.
The risk is duration. Both contracts reportedly include 90-day cancellation terms, so this revenue could shrink quickly once more data-center capacity reaches the market. Investors may still accept that uncertainty because rented compute gives SpaceX cash while its larger space projects remain expensive and distant.

AI ethics is moving into the workplace

AI ethics is leaving the policy document and opening on a laptop screen.
UNESCO and LG AI Research have launched a free Coursera course with 10 modules, certification, and translation options in 11 languages. It is aimed at developers, researchers, policymakers, students, and other professionals working with AI.
Ethics training is getting practical. The useful part is its focus on everyday product decisions, where fairness, privacy, safety, and accountability often compete with deadlines and budgets.
Companies now have a common training resource built around a framework endorsed by UNESCO’s 193 member states. That gap matters. A shared course will not settle hard decisions, but it could make teams document them more clearly and challenge weak assumptions earlier.
Will employers treat the course as real training or another certificate for LinkedIn?
