Gemini 4 Argon pushes output to 1M tokens

Plus: AI reaches 1.7 million Pentagon users

Hello, Prohuman

Today, we will talk about these stories:

  • Gemini 4 Argon is built for longer jobs

  • The Pentagon’s AI rollout is getting serious

  • Small businesses are moving past basic AI

Elon's new company is private. These 3 tickers aren't.

The next Apple may already exist. Insider sources say Elon has spent two years building a secret device inside Tesla's facilities — one he claims will be "10x bigger than the largest product in history."

There's just one problem: the company is private, and unless you know Elon personally, you can't buy a single share. That was true until Guardian's research team found three public ticker symbols sitting in the launch supply chain.

You won't hear these names on CNBC — Wall Street hasn't published a word on the connection. But when the launch hits September 21, that quiet ends.

Some are already calling this the biggest opportunity since AI. For anyone who missed Apple before the iPhone, this may be a second look at that kind of setup.

Google’s new model can output up to 1 million tokens

Gemini 4 Argon is Google’s latest frontier model, built for long software engineering, research, legal, finance, and cybersecurity tasks. Inside Google, Argon agents have already helped migrate large C/C++ codebases to Rust, including work spanning more than 800,000 lines for the Fuchsia Zircon kernel.

That’s the part I’d watch.

Benchmarks matter, but Google is putting more emphasis on whether one model can stay useful through a long job without repeatedly handing control back to a person. Argon scored 77.9% on DeepSWE v1.1, and Google says one internal deployment freed more than 300 TiB of memory across its data centers.

Broad access is still coming later. Google is starting with trusted cyber defenders while it tests safeguards around misuse, prompt injection, and agent behavior.

For now, the strongest claims come from Google and selected partners.

What happens when ordinary developers get their hands on it?

Small businesses are giving AI real work

Four million small-business employees used OpenAI tools in one week.

OpenAI says nearly one in five worked at companies with fewer than 10 employees, with finance, compliance, supply chain, and marketing showing especially heavy agent use among smaller firms. Agentic output also reached two-thirds of small-business output tokens in August, up from one-third in April.

That shift stands out.

Small companies often cannot hire a specialist for every function, so AI has a practical opening here that goes beyond drafting emails or making social posts. One restaurant operator used ChatGPT Work to check competitors’ menu prices before changing his own, while another owner reports landing paid work after using it to research potential customers and prepare outreach.

OpenAI now wants to widen that behavior through America’s SBDC, training around 150 advisors and reaching at least 1,000 businesses through workshops.

The interesting question is what owners still use six months later.

That will tell us much more than workshop attendance.

AI is already inside Pentagon workflows

The Pentagon says 1.7 million people are using AI.

Personnel with common access cards can access Gemini, Grok for Government, and ChatGPT Mil through GenAI.mil, with the tools being used for research, coding, finance, cybersecurity, and administrative work.

The clearest example is simple.

A Navy software modernization project that officials said could have taken two to three years and cost more than $10 million was completed by three developers using GenAI.mil in 30 days.

That result matters more to me than another model benchmark. The military is testing whether commercial AI can shorten actual work inside one of the largest and most complicated organizations in government.

Adoption also looks substantial. More than 300,000 department personnel have used Grok since its launch last month, while officials say ChatGPT Mil is seeing similar numbers.

The next move is more consequential: officials plan to bring these AI tools onto classified networks, including SIPRNet and JWICS.

What changes when AI moves from office workflows into classified ones?
