Hello, Prohuman

Today, we will talk about these stories:

  • Google wants agents in Search and apps

  • OpenAI adds stronger AI image labels

  • Claude gets a major research hire

Google is making Gemini more useful at work

Google’s clearest Gemini 3.5 claim is that Flash can handle long tasks faster, including coding, audits, and financial-document prep.

Gemini 3.5 Flash is available now in the Gemini app, AI Mode in Search, Google Antigravity, AI Studio, Android Studio, and enterprise tools. Google says it beats Gemini 3.1 Pro on several agent and coding benchmarks, including 76.2% on Terminal-Bench 2.1, while running 4 times faster than other frontier models.

The useful detail is speed. That matters because agent tools fail when they are slow, expensive, or too fragile to run across messy work systems for hours.

The bigger move is Google putting 3.5 Flash inside Search and the Gemini app by default, with Gemini Spark rolling out to trusted testers. In the bright I/O stage light, this looked less like a model launch and more like Google testing how much action users will allow.

Who gets blamed when the agent does the wrong thing?

OpenAI wants AI images easier to verify

OpenAI is adding Google DeepMind’s SynthID watermarking to images made in ChatGPT, Codex, and the OpenAI API.

The company says it is now a C2PA Conforming Generator Product, which means its AI images can carry signed provenance metadata that other platforms can read and preserve. It is also previewing a public tool that checks uploaded images for Content Credentials and SynthID signals.

This is practical work.
The important part is OpenAI admitting metadata breaks when images are resized, screenshotted, downloaded, or passed through messy platform pipes.

A layered system gives platforms, journalists, and regular users more to inspect before trusting an image on a phone screen at 11 p.m. The tool only verifies OpenAI-generated content at launch, so the bigger test is whether other companies make their signals readable across services.

Will people check provenance before they share?

Karpathy is back in frontier AI

Andrej Karpathy is joining Anthropic’s pre-training team, the group responsible for the large runs that shape Claude’s core capabilities.

Karpathy co-founded OpenAI, led AI at Tesla, returned to OpenAI, then started Eureka Labs in 2024. At Anthropic, he will work under Nick Joseph and build a team using Claude to speed up pre-training research.

This hire matters. Pre-training is one of the most expensive parts of AI, and Anthropic is betting that better research loops can matter as much as raw compute.

The practical signal is that frontier labs now want senior researchers who can turn models into tools for improving the next model. Karpathy also said he remains interested in education, but his desk is now inside Anthropic’s core model operation.

How much faster can a lab move when Claude starts helping train Claude?
